Online dermatologist – Quick help without having to visit the doctor

Dermanostic offers several packages for online treatment.

The Basic service costs from € 29 per treatment case and includes diagnosis, treatment recommendations and a private prescription. This is a one-off payment. No subscription is required.

In addition to basic dermatological treatment, Dermanostic also offers the Plus package, which includes all the services from Basic package, as well as the opportunity to ask the medical team any questions. In addition, you will receive a personalised skincare plan, guidance on proper cleansing, further tips and exclusive skincare product recommendations. This service costs from € 39 per treatment. This is also a one-off payment. 

Dermanostic also offers a Express package; however, this is not reimbursed by HanseMerkur travel insurance, as it includes follow-up treatment which, in most cases, no longer falls within the duration of the trip.

HanseMerkur will reimburse you for treatment at Basic and Plus package. Please be aware of any policy restrictions, excesses and pre-existing condition clauses that may apply to your international health insurance policy.

The service can be used worldwide. The Dermanostic app is already available in several languages (e.g. German, English, Dutch, Spanish).

In all EU countries, prescriptions are sent by post; in Austria, they are also delivered directly to a local pharmacy. The private prescriptions issued are valid throughout the EU. Officially, this does not apply to Switzerland and the UK under current legislation, although Dermanostic’s experience shows that they are accepted in both countries.

Although prescriptions can only be dispatched within the EU, patients outside the EU can still access the diagnosis and treatment plan as part of the service.

If dermatologists recommend a prescription-only medicine, the relevant private prescription will be provided. Private prescriptions are valid within the EU and can be dispensed at pharmacies.

We reimburse the cost of the Dermanostic packagesBasic and Standard as well as costs for prescription medicines, provided that the prescriptions issued by Dermanostic were dispensed during the trip.

Please be aware of any policy restrictions, excesses and pre-existing condition clauses that may apply to your international health insurance policy.

This service is available to you for medically necessary treatment. Costs for preventive medical check-ups (in particular skin cancer screening) will only be reimbursed if this benefit is expressly covered under the international health insurance policy you have taken out.

After your trip, please fill in the Online claims form and we will reimburse your expenses as soon as possible.

You can download the Dermanostic app from Apple App Store or from the Google Play Store and register. You then upload photos, a completed questionnaire, further information about the skin condition and patient details. The app securely transmits the data and photos to the dermatologists, and you make the payment. Your case is then assessed by a dermatologist, and you receive a medical report containing the diagnosis and treatment recommendation.
